Many of our prospective students have reported that when they go to U.S. Embassies or the Consular General’s Offices, and present the I-20 issued by VIU to the consular officers, they are told that VIU is not on their list of Accredited Universities in the Northern Virginia region. The purpose of this letter was to request the Assistant Secretary of Consular Affairs at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC to disseminate this information to all the U.S. Missions/Embassies worldwide. This letter is self explanatory. Our recommendation to all of our prospective students is to download this letter and a copy of the ACICS letter of Accreditation Approval, then bring these two pieces of information with you to the American Embassy as a part and parcel of all of your documentation.  Good Luck to you all.  Click here to download the letter.
