Carol DeLaney is a published scholar, consultant, lecturer, and teacher. She studied Communication and Linguistics at Georgetown University,where she earned her M.A. with honors in 1988. She earned her B.A. from George Washington University in Communications. She has also studied at the Universite de Poitiers and the American University of Paris. Her work has been published in SCRIPTA POLITICA ET ECONOMICA (The American University of Paris), THE WASHINGTON STAR newspaper, THE GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS, and other venues.

Ms. DeLaney has taught Communication Studies at the National Institutes of Health and worked as a Fairfax County Public School teacher at Oakton High School. In her spare time, she writes for the public interest as a journalist in the field of Environmental Affairs.

She lives in Fairfax, Virginia, with her husband.
