Emilia Butu

Emilia Butu has a Diploma of Engineer (BS/MS) in Control Engineering and Computers, earned at Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania, and a MS in Computer Science from Southeastern University, Washington DC. She is currently working on her PhD in Computer Science at George Mason University.

Professor Butu has almost 20 years of computer engineering experience in education, research and software design, specialized in development and project management of software and web-based learning applications. She has extensive experience in adult education, using educational gaming and simulation techniques. As eLearning Director at Southeastern University, she has established and developed a successful online program that is constantly enrolling more than one third of the students enrolled in the University. Professor Butu has taught numerous online and on campus courses, at undergraduate and graduate level, in Computer Science, Information Systems and Mathematics.
