| Hasan K.Burk Dean of Students Hasan K. Burk received his secondary education in a government boarding school located in a mid-sized city in Turkey called Samsun. Later, he graduated from Middle East Technical University with a bachelor's degree in Faculty of education for chemistry. Right after graduation, he signed a contract with a private education company in Antalya, Turkey, by which his journey to education had begun. Since then he has served as an educator, vice president, president, and consultant of private science colleges and educational institutions in different parts of the world. He traveled out to the developing countries especially to Central Asia and spent a total of nearly three years in Russia to help assess the needs of a modernizing the education system, and provided several report to small Turkic republics and as well as private educational investors. Between 1996-1998, he settled in Istanbul, Turkey, and started writing high school chemistry books for science colleges. He worked for SURAT Education and Consulting Corp. and published three Chemistry books for the private colleges where the medium of instruction is English. He holds a master of business administration degree in international business. He joined the VIU team in early 1999 as a Foreign Student advisor. After this, he was promoted to the Director of Admissions position in late 2001. He is married with two children , a boy, and a girl, and lives in Centreville, VA
