Michael Keith Simms, Ph.D. Dr. Michael Keith Simms was born and raised in Washington of the District of Columbia. He is a product of the public school system of the nation’s capital culminating at Frank W. Ballou Senior High. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland College Park. At the University of Baltimore, he was awarded a Master of Public Administration. He completed his Doctoral Degree of Philosophy in field Political Science specializing in Leadership, Public Finance, International Relations, Nonprofit Organization and Management and Public Administration from Howard University.
Dr. Simms has over 18 years of experience and expertise of Budget and Fiscal Analysis in Higher Education gain from Morgan State University and the University of Maryland, College Park. He currently has fiscal and administrative oversight of thirty-four self-supporting enterprises at College Park consisting of $182 million dollars. His research involves such areas as E-Learning of Nonprofit Management, International Immigration and Naturalization Terrorism Strategies, Stem Cell and Cloning Public Policies, DNA Databases, Criminal Justice System and Unanticipated Consequences and Public Finance.
Dr. Simms is currently the Founder and CEO of the Faith Leadership Institute an organization with a mission to equip and train leadership in serving the urban cities, in developing nonprofit organizations, primarily 501 (c) (3) tax exempt entities meeting such community needs as: (Homeless Shelters, Food Banks, HIV/AIDS Prevention, Early Child Development, Alcohol and Drug Counseling, GED and Illiteracy programs).
