Tom Triscari, PhD

Dr. Thomas M. Triscari , Jr. A leading authority on the improvement of information and decision making processes in complex organizations; Dr. Triscari employs a multidisciplinary approach; including systems engineering, operations analysis and innovation management principles to the development and implementation of emerging technology for strategic competitive advantage. Until his retirement from active duty in 1995 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, he held key technical leadership positions in Air Force research and development organizations. In 1997, he joined the Lally School of Management and Technology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) as an Associate Professor.

Dr Triscari has also been involved in US government organizations while on the faculty at RPI, including: serving as a staff member on the House Committee on Appropriations, Surveys and Investigations; through the Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) as a Research Scientist in Cyber Security and Decision Sciences at the Air Force Research Laboratory; and, in 2004, he was awarded an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Science and Technology Policy Fellowship at the United States Department of Homeland Security in Washington, DC..

Dr. Triscari earned a Ph.D. in Engineering Management, an M.S. in Operations Research and Statistics, M. Engineering, and B.S. in Management Engineering from RPI.

Dr. Triscari is currently serving as the Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the LMI Research Institute, McLean, VA. His research activities will include examining national and global security issues. One such effort will explore opportunities and challenges in transnational innovation models for developing sustainable energy technologies.
