Student Government Association (SGA)

Positions Available

President –Oversees and directs the needs of the Student Government

Association (SGA) and is responsible for managing and setting a year long agenda, and organizing/running monthly meetings. The President serves as the top liaison between student and VIU administration, faculty, and staff. There is a possibility that the President may participate VIU Board of Trustee meetings.

Vice President-Acts as the President’s deputy and coordinate the activities of the SGA. Responsible for creating agenda w/President and for documenting important records.

Secretary/Treasurer-Dedicated to the concerns of the students. Responsible for creating a productive environment for the students by addressing problems and presenting solutions.   In charge of record keeping and budget proposal including keeping account record.

If you believe in yourself as a leader and are willing to serve your fellow VIU students, and you have the time required for the job, then please consider running for one of the three positions in the Student Government Association.

The election, both online and ballot will be held on Wednesday February 27 and Thusrday February 28, 2008.  Application for candidacy must be submitted to Student & Career Counselor by 2:00 PM, Monday, February 11, 2008
