Non-Intensive ESL Program Tuition &Fees

Tuition

Students can pay tuition and fees through the Student Application Portal after completing the online registration. Class payment and registration must be completed at least one business day before the first day of classes. For example, class registration and payment must be completed by 11:59 pm Thursday before the Saturday class. Late registrations or payments are not accepted.
The following tuition and fee structure is effective for the 2017-2018 academic year. Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice. Each class is offered upon reaching the required number of student enrollment.

Standard Fees

All fees are non-refundable and apply to new students only. If you are a returning student who completed a non-intensive ESL program at VIU within the last 12 months you do not have to pay the $20 application fee again or take a placement test.
Other fees may include service and late fees. Please review the Academic Catalog for details and specific amounts.

Textbook expenses are not included in tuition. Students may spend an average of $30 per course based on buying a used or new copy from Amazon.

Refund and Deferral Policy

Students who wish to request a refund or defer their courses should visit the Accounting Office or call (703)591-7042 ext. 335 during regular business hours.
Saturday Museum Classes
Museum class tuition is non-refundable. However, a student may choose another Saturday Museum class and request a deferral up until one business day before the class for which he/she originally registered.
Non-intensive Evening and Weekend Classes
Refunds for the non-intensive evening and weekend classes are granted up to three business days before the first day of classes for which the student originally registered. Students are permitted to defer to another course within the program up until one business day after the first day of class for which he/she originally registered.
