The VIU Career Center is committed to assisting VIU students and alumni in locating and obtaining internship and job opportunities. Students are encouraged to utilize various programs and services offered throughout the academic year that will assist in preparation of a résumé and cover letter, search for available employment positions, and polish interview techniques.
The VIU Career Center offers the following services to all VIU students & VIU alumni:
- Résumé creation and review
- Cover letter creation and review
- Interview skills coaching
- Videotaping of mock interviews
- Job posting notifications
- Advance notice of local career fairs and recruiting events
Walk-in hours are available for students with quick career-related questions Monday through Friday between 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M.. Due to the large volume of visitors received by the Career Center, please limit your meetings to between15-20 minutes. All visitors and are handled on a first come, first served basis.
Individual appointments are available to all VIU students who are in need of working one-on-one with our Career Center Coordinator, Shilpa Sainath, regarding career-related topics and planning.
