It’s an easy and fast way to access information while on the go from anywhere.

The new TESOL Club will be a social group for students of TESOL who want to promote multiculturalism in education. TESOL Club also plans to form a community outreach program for immigrants by teaching ESL, EAP, and survival English, and by forming an ESL conversation club for them to practice their English.

How do I know if VIU is closed due to weather?

You can always check the VIU homepage to see if we have cancelled classes for the day.  You may also watch the following news stations or check their websites to see if we have cancelled classes:

Fox 5 (www.myfoxdc.com)
ABC 7 & News Channel 8 (www.wjla.com)

Another option is to tune your radio to WTOP (FM 103.9 or FM 103.5) for updates.

What can you expect? 
We will probably see a lot of rain, some wind, and maybe some power outages.  If the wind is very strong, some trees may fall.  Rain may also flood some of the roads. 

What can you do to be prepared? 

1. Stay up-to-date with the latest information by visiting the Weather Channel (or your favorite news station) on TV or on your computer.  (www.weather.com)
2. Make sure you have a flashlight with fresh batteries.
3. Purchase bottled water and food that doesn’t require electricity to prepare.
4. When possible, stay at home. Roads may not be safe due to fallen trees or flooding.
5. Use common sense and stay safe!

 

VIU is Preparing to Introduce Three Online Journals

Over the next six to seven months, VIU will publish the first editions of three online journals dedicated to the study of business, management and leadership. The overall aim of the journals is to promote exchange of ideas, increase VIU’s visibility, and position VIU as a center for research.
Electronic Journal of Global Business, Management, and Leadership (EJGBML) – Student Publication,a quarterly publication, will provide VIU students and eventually university students worldwide with the opportunity to publish research papers prepared in pursuit of their degrees. The objectives of EJGBML – Student Publication are to:
