My name is Abimbola Awelewa, I am from Lagos, Nigeria. I came to Virginia International University because it offered me an opportunity to advance my career. This is my fourth semester at Virginia International University. I am studying for an MBA in International Business Management. My journey at Virginia International University has been tremendous. Studying at Virginia International University has given me the needed resources and tools to be effective in the workplace. I have become a better writer through intensive training and classes and also I have learned how to study and work in a diverse environment. The managerial skills I gained in my program are applicable in real life scenarios. I have been able to utilize many of the tools learned. I cannot overemphasize the usefulness of the soft skills reinforced during presentations and classes. They are essential to a successful career.
In particular, I give thanks to Dr. Chala who has taught me how to use Excel to solve statistics which I had no knowledge of, Dr. Bonnie Wolf who has also helped me to have a better understanding of finance by using real-life examples, and also Dr. Pousiant who has helped me to become a better writer. With each event, I have been able to gain professional and personal development skills. Thank you all for making my stay at Virginia International University.
