I am from El Salvador, a beautiful country filled with great beaches, fresh seafood, pristine lakes, and friendly citizens.
I received my bachelor’s degree back home. When I moved to the U.S. with my family, I realized that in order to pursue my master`s degree, I needed to improve my English. I wanted a deeper knowledge on how to run a business in the U.S., so I decided that I will do my MBA with the specialization in finance or marketing. Not only do I want to learn English well and fast, but I also want to be integrated into the culture and adapt to this country as soon as possible. That’s how my husband and I came looking for intensive English courses within a short commute from home.
We found VIU, a small but lovely university in Fairfax that offered intensive ESL courses. We took the campus tour and were introduced to the ESL professors. We also checked the teachers’ professional bios posted on the VIU website and realized that VIU is the perfect fit.
My teacher`s name is Brian. He is very patient, kind, and knowledgeable and I plan to take all the ESL program levels offered at VIU. It will probably take me 6 months in total to become qualified to pass my TOEFL or IELTS exam and get accepted into an MBA program at a university in America. But it is worth it to pursue my dream.
