Press Release (September 27, 2002)

Fairfax, VA – September 27, 2002 – His excellency Jalbuu Coinhor, Mongolian ambassador to the United States, addressed the faculty and students of Fairfax University of America today at the school’s monthly luncheon. The students and staff were treated to a speech about the history of Mongolia, as well as Mongolia’s recent developments in international relations and trade.

The ambassador discussed the general importance of international education in improving international relations and understanding among nations.

“We are happy that the ambassador took time out from his schedule to visit with us,” said Dr. Isa Sarac, president of FXUA. “It was a great opportunity for our students to participate in the international flavor of the Washington, DC area.”

The ambassador’s speech marks a monthly event at FXUA. Each month, the students and faculty have a luncheon where a guest speaker gives a short speech or presentation. It has become a tradition at the young university, one that allows students and staff alike the opportunity to learn about the community, current events or international affairs.

Fairfax University of America is home to students from all over the world. It is an independent, non-profit university that offers courses in computers, business and English language proficiency. It currently has students from over 15 different countries from around the world.
