Dr. Bishnu Poudel Appointed to Proprietary Schools Advisory Committee for Virginia Board of Education
Fairfax, VA – August 20, 2002 – Dr. Bishnu Poudel, Vice President of Virginia International University, has recently been appointed to the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Education’s Proprietary Schools Advisory Committee. The appointment takes effect on September 1st for a term that ends on August 31, 2003.
The committee is a nine-member committee appointed by the Board of Education. It is responsible for making recommendations to the Board to carry out the purposes of Title 22.1, Chapter 16 of the Code of Virginia, which includes the development of new or expanded programs in Virginia.
“I am honored to be appointed to the committee,” said Dr. Poudel, Vice President of the university. “It represents a wonderful opportunity to improve education standards in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and I take this commitment very seriously.”
Dr. Poudel, who serves as Vice President of Virginia International University, is an international educator with many years experience. In his capacity on the committee, Dr. Poudel will represent the interests of Virginia International University, an independent, non-profit university specializing in international undergraduate and graduate education, ESL, MBA and computercourses. Its students come from over 15 countries around the world. It is located in Fairfax, Virginia.
