Dean’s Message

Dr. Ilham Nasser

Dear School of Education community,

It is with great honor that I welcome you to the School of Education (SOE) at FXUA, where we, faculty and staff, are committed to providing you with high quality education and learning experiences. I am a strong believer in the human capacity to reach higher potential through the investment in education and the teaching and learning of all kinds of learners. Education is an important end goal, especially when utilized to improve lives and empower future generations who are informed by current knowledge and are grounded in universal human values. At the SOE, we prepare adult learners for the job market and for the future.

The SOE has several graduate-level programs including a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA in TESOL), a Graduate Certificate in TESOL, and a Master of Science in Applied Linguistics. It has an excellent group of faculty who are experts in their subject areas and are welcoming and available to meet with you and discuss your academic needs. Make sure to take advantage of the various services in place at FXUA to support your journey to professionalism and always let us know what you think.

As we move forward, it is my goal to work with my colleagues to strengthen our existing programs and develop new ones that are unique to FXUA as an institution that prepares for the future. The SOE is committed to delivering high quality career education as a pathway to successful and meaningful possibilities. As you join the professional community of educators, whether you are a career starter or switcher, SOE will support you to achieve your highest potential and to lead a professional life as an educator. I would like to reach out to our alumni and our larger education community to get involved in FXUA and help us to chart together a pathway to success in the 21st century. I am very excited about joining the community of FXUA and SOE and the potential we have as individuals and a group.
