My name is Dr. Alusine M. Kanu DA. I am a native of Sierra Leone, West Africa. I migrated to the United States with the goal of furthering my education. I am a three-time graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia with course work in communication, human resources training and development and a DA Communication Instruction. I am also (D.Ed.) in Pastoral Community Counseling at Argosy University in Sarasota, FL. My career experiences include working as professor in communication, elementary school teacher, multicultural counselor, librarian, radio announcer and producer, public relations, legal research and program designer and instructor for “Training the Trainer.” I am adjunct faculty at VA International University. I teach International Business Management. I am also Adjunct Faculty at George Mason University. I teach Introduction to Speech Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Small Group Communication, Public Speaking, Business Communication, Intercultural Communication, Organizational Communication, Mass Communication and Oral interpretation. My future career development pursuit is that I am CEO and founder of Alusine Multicultural Family Services. I am unique because I have had exposure to both individualistic and collectivist cultures. I have two children and four grandchildren. I am author of Reflections in Communication: an Interdisciplinary Approach, published by the University Press of America, and co-author of Connecting Intercultural Commun-ication: Techniques for Communicating across Cultures, with Kendall Hunt Publishing, Experiencing Interactive Interpersonal Communication with Xlibris and Faculty Development Programs: Strategies for Teaching and Learning with Iuniverse. My most recent publication is Processing Public Speaking Perspectives in Information Production and Consumption with Xlibris. My future research approach is directed on methods and analysis of qualitative & quantitative research to facilitate development of global workforce. I depend on results of data analysis to determine validity of a theory in an ethical and responsible manner. I support efforts to achieve objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development in the global market and provide international clients with expertise in terms of economic and result-oriented services. I believe it is the responsibility of business and industry to provide programs for personal enrichment and career advancement.
