Gary Brooks, PhD
Dr. Gary Brooks’s career includes accounting and finance work with leading defense contractors and over 13 years of active duty service in the military. Primarily, his work for the last 25 years has been in support of the intelligence community. His focus has been the federal budget process to include budget reporting and execution. Gary teaches accounting, online and in-classroom, as an adjunct professor at several area universities. Originally from Ohio, Gary started college at Miami University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business with a minor in accounting from the University of Maryland, University College. He completed a Master of Business Administration from Averett University, and he earned a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. His dissertation research recommended a new model to consider three disparate topics: procrastination, retirement planning, and Generation X. Dr. Brooks holds the following certifications: Virginia Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP); Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM); Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA); and Certified Financial Manager with Acquisition Specialty (CMFM-A).
