Koorosh Azhandeh, PhD
Dr. Koorosh currently serves as the Dean of School of Online Education. He was as the Associate Dean for the School of Computer Information Systems for over 3 years. Prior to joining VIU, he worked as a multimedia director for the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the Catholic University of America. Washington D.C., a BS in Communication Science with a Minor in Technology of Communication from Università della Svizzera Italiana, Switzerland, and a BA in English Literature and Translation from Azad University, Iran. He also received a certification in Methods in Distance Education from the Catholic University of America. Dr. Koorosh has been an active member of PMI, IEEE, ACM, IALLT, and FLEAT for several years. He has been developing and teaching computer science courses both online and in class since 2008. His professional and research interests include instructional technology advancement, web design, project management, information-centric networking, automation testing, computer networking, cyber-security, and cloud computing. He enjoys cycling, hiking, camping, and learning different languages. He is fluent in Italian and Farsi.
